Calendar: views and conflicts

Day, week, month or timeline – the calendar remembers your view on every device and warns you when an appointment doesn't fit.

Last reviewed: 10 October 2026

The views

At the top right of the calendar you switch between four views:

  • Day – one column per artist. Guest artists only show up during their guest period.
  • Week – seven days side by side, as a list on your phone.
  • Month – the overview including time off.
  • Timeline – artists as rows across four weeks, with guest periods, time off and how busy each day is.

Show and hide artists

Which artists you see is set in a side panel that slides in from the right:

  • On your phone tap the button with the profile pictures next to the date (“All” or “2 of 5”). The panel fills the screen.
  • On a computer click Filter (funnel icon). The artist chips below the heading work as well: a click shows or hides a column, a double-click shows only this artist. If the chips no longer fit in the row, the Artists button appears instead.

In the panel you tick artists on or off – with profile picture, role or guest period (“Guest until 16 Oct”). All, Only me and None switch quickly. Under Display you can include cancelled appointments. Changes apply straight away; Done, the X, swiping right or Escape closes the panel, Reset shows everything again.

The calendar remembers your view

The very first time, the calendar opens in the day view with one column per artist. After that it opens the way you last left it – view, hidden artists and “Show cancelled”. This applies to you personally and on every device you sign in with. If you work in several studios, Inkfuchs remembers the view per studio.

Conflicts: when an appointment doesn't fit

When you save, move or resize an appointment, Inkfuchs checks whether it fits. A conflict is:

  • an overlap with another appointment of the same artist or workstation,
  • time off of the artist (vacation, sick, guest spot …),
  • a closed day for the whole studio,
  • an appointment outside the artist's working hours – only if working hours are set in the team profile,
  • an appointment outside the guest period of a guest artist.

Blocks (e.g. break, drawing) and cancelled appointments aren't checked – they don't hold time for customers.

Save anyway

People with the Override conflicts permission see the question Save anyway? listing all reasons and can knowingly double-book. Without the permission, Inkfuchs doesn't save and tells you why – then pick a free time or ask someone who has the permission.

Default: owners, studio managers and front desk may override conflicts; artists, guest artists, piercers and apprentices may not. You can change this per person in their profile under Team, section Permissions. More: Invite your team and assign roles.

Every overridden conflict is listed in the log marked “Konflikt übergangen” (conflict overridden).

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I drag an appointment into the lunch break?

The time is probably outside the artist's working hours. With the Override conflicts permission you can save anyway – or adjust the working hours in the team profile.

Can I undo a move?

Yes, with ⌘Z or Ctrl+Z, or with the undo button in the notification. If that creates a conflict, the same rules apply as when saving.

How do I add a vacation?

With the Time off button in the calendar or in the timeline. Here's how: Add time off.
