Requests as an inbox – unread, pills, counter
New requests jump right out at you – bold with an orange dot, as a number in the sidebar and on the app icon, filtered with one click on the pills.
Last reviewed: 10 October 2026
Under Requests you work just like in your email inbox: what's new is bold. What you've read steps back. And the number next to Requests tells you anywhere in Inkfuchs whether something is waiting for you.
Unread – for each person separately
- A new request is unread for everyone on your team who may handle requests: bold, with an orange dot.
- Once you open it, it's read for you only. Your teammates keep their own state – just like email.
- If you log a request yourself (phone, DM, in the studio), it's read for you and new for everyone else.
- When you join a team, requests that came in before you started count as read for you. You start with a tidy inbox.
- Archived requests are put away: never unread, not in the counter. Bring one back and it's unread again if you hadn't opened it yet.
- Changes your team makes to a request (status, notes, images) don't make it unread again.
Mark as read or unread
- One request: in the list via the
···menu → Mark as unread or Mark as read. - In the open request: the envelope at the bottom left puts it back as unread and closes it – perfect for "I'll look at it later".
- Several: tick the rows, then choose Mark as read or Mark as unread at the top.
- Everything at once: Mark all as read on the right above the list.
Read and unread are your personal view. That's why they don't show up in the log.
Pills: filter with one click
Above the list you'll find the pills All · Unread · New · In review · Offer sent · Accepted · Declined · Archived – each with the number of matching requests. One click filters the list.
- The numbers take your search and the filters for type, source and artist into account.
- Your choice is part of the address: a link or the back button shows the same view. Reset takes you back to All.
- New is a status (nobody has worked on the request yet). Unread is your personal reading state.
Counter in the sidebar and on the app icon
- Next to Requests in the sidebar you see the number of your unread requests, from 100 on as "99+". At 0 it disappears.
- With the sidebar collapsed, the number sits small on the icon. On your phone, a dot on the menu shows that something new is there.
- If you've installed Inkfuchs as an app, the number also shows on the app icon – if your device supports it. It disappears when you sign out.
- Everything updates live, without reloading – on all your devices.
Too much orange? Under My account → Appearance & language you can switch off the number in the sidebar and on the app icon for yourself – per studio, on all your devices.
Who sees counters and markers?
Everyone with the permission Handle requests. You switch it on or off per person under Team – more in Invite your team and assign roles. Guest artists don't have it in their template.
How a request becomes a project is explained in Turn a request into a project.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between "New" and "Unread"?
New is the status of the request and applies to the whole team until someone works on it. Unread applies to you only: if you haven't opened the request yet, it's unread for you – whatever its status.
Can my team see what I've already read?
No. Everyone has their own reading state, just like email.
Why doesn't an archived request count as unread?
Archiving means: done and put away. So the counter only shows what's really waiting for you, archived requests never count.
