Notifications on your phone
New request, new message, online booking – Inkfuchs pings your phone, even when the app is closed (on iPhone via the Home Screen).
Last reviewed: 10 October 2026
A new request comes in while you're tattooing? Inkfuchs taps you on the shoulder on your phone – even when the app is closed. One tap on the notification and you're right there: in the request, the conversation, the appointment.
Notifications come on top of your emails. Set them up under My account → Notifications.
Switch it on – in three seconds
- Open My account → Notifications on the device that should ring.
- Tap Turn on for this device.
- Your browser asks whether Inkfuchs may send you notifications – tap Allow.
Send a test shows you right away what it looks like. For every other device (laptop, tablet at the front desk) do the same there.
iPhone and iPad: add to your Home Screen first
Apple only allows notifications for apps on the Home Screen – from iOS or iPadOS 16.4. Set it up once:
- Open Inkfuchs in Safari and tap Share (the square with the arrow pointing up).
- Choose Add to Home Screen and tap Add.
- Open Inkfuchs from the new icon, sign in and tap Turn on for this device under My account → Notifications.
Inkfuchs detects whether you're in the browser or in the app from your Home Screen and shows you the right step. If your iPhone runs something older than iOS 16.4, update under Settings → General → Software Update – until then you'll get everything by email.
No detour with the Inkfuchs Studio iPhone app: notifications come straight through Apple there – see Notifications in the app.
Android, Mac and PC
Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari (Mac) handle notifications right in the browser. It's most convenient to install Inkfuchs as an app (browser menu Install app or Add to Home screen). Private windows don't get notifications.
What reaches you
You decide per studio what rings. You only see the switches you have the permission for:
- New request – from your website or booking page, or someone on the team entered one (never to the person who entered it).
- New message – a customer wrote to you in their customer area.
- New online booking – booked, reserved or requested.
- Customer cancelled – via the link in the reminder.
- Consent form signed
- Guest artist joined – via QR code.
- My appointments – someone else created, moved or cancelled an appointment for you. Online bookings with you included.
Out of the box it fits the role: owners and managers get everything, front desk gets the inbox and the calendar, artists their own appointments (and messages, if they may handle them). Requests only ring for artists once they switch it on – otherwise five artists get five pings.
What's in a notification – and what never is
Short and sweet, for example New request · Tattoo – “Kim, forearm, approx. 10 × 8 cm”. If you're in several studios, the studio name is included.
Never in a notification: health details, answers from consent forms, text or photos from customer messages (it just says “New message from Kim”), motif descriptions, email addresses or phone numbers.
Switch off Show content in notifications and your lock screen only says “New request” – no names. Handy when others can see your phone.
Quiet hours
Switch on Quiet hours and pick the window, e.g. 22:00–07:00. No notifications during that time. Your emails and the counts in the app stay – you'll see everything in the morning.
Quiet hours and “Show content” apply to your account: in all your studios, on all your devices.
Number on the app icon
If you installed Inkfuchs as an app, a notification also updates the number on the app icon (unread requests and messages) – unless you turned it off under Appearance & language. More in Requests as an inbox.
Manage devices and sign out
My devices shows where you get notifications and when the last one arrived. Remove an old phone there. When you sign out of Inkfuchs, notifications stop on that device – important on the shared tablet at the front desk. If someone else signs in there and turns notifications on, the device belongs to them from then on.
FAQ
I tapped “Block”. How do I get notifications back?
Allow them in your browser's site settings (padlock next to the address → Notifications → Allow); on iPhone under Settings → Notifications → Inkfuchs. Then reload the page and tap Turn on for this device again.
Do notifications go through a third-party service?
Notifications travel through your browser's or device's push service (Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft). In the browser the content is end-to-end encrypted – only your device can read it, not the push service. In the apps, Apple (iPhone) or Google (Android) deliver title and text; if you’d rather not, switch off Show content in notifications (Notifications in the app).
I'm not getting notifications anymore.
Check under My account → Notifications whether this device is on, whether quiet hours are running and whether the switch for the event is on. On iPhone: do you open Inkfuchs from the Home Screen? In a Focus mode (“Do Not Disturb”) your phone holds notifications back.
Do my customers get notifications too?
Yes, if they want: in their customer area under Account → Notifications they turn on “New message from …” with your studio's name – in the browser or in the Inkfuchs app. The notification never shows the message text; the email still comes.
